STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM education is essential because the world depends on it. With technology advancing with every passing hour, the STEM field offers solutions to every possible challenge we face today. Careers in STEM fields are flourishing, and technology has a role in every job one can think of. Making STEM a part of children’s education can help children transform their educational journey right from their initial years of schooling. STEM education helps one develop thinking patterns and add perspectives to the thought process, leading to innovations in the field. Through STEM education, one not only learns facts and a method of thinking. But can quickly identify and relate the knowledge to the real-life challenges and innovate solutions to solve them. 

The SGF believes that by introducing African children to STEM and giving them the chance to investigate STEM-related ideas, they will become passionate about it and, ideally, pursue a career in a STEM profession. The SGF helps kids uncover the excitement and adventure in the world of science, technology, engineering, and math. We offer various programs that develop children’s creativity and boost their STEM skills through engaging experiments, interactive games, quizzes, facts, projects, images, educational resources, newsletters, digital magazines, flashcards, kids’ books, tools for teachers, lesson plans, and much more. We encourage young schoolgirls to pursue STEM careers by helping them understand the career options in a STEM field. Here we support girls through interactive games, help them speak to professionals and role models to understand their career options or interests, apply for scholarships, and more.

With a growing economy that has a higher demand for STEM fields, it’s important that the next generation learn how they can make a difference in their world. That’s why the SGF supports a variety of classes and workshops that kids of all ages can enjoy. We support robotics camps and classes to give students the opportunity to dive deep into the world of robotics and explore how computer programming and robot design can solve problems big and small! Robotics is the intersection of science, engineering, and technology.
